FARK’S PORN BASE, YAHOO’S $4 VERIZON “SALE” AND ZIFF-DAVIS CEO VIVEK SHEH

The ‘online advertising business is in decline..it’s broken..advertising is dead!’ Because no one is getting married and buying household products, eats at KFC or goes to Disney World anymore..advertising to mom and dad is dead! What else is new and it’s the usual refrain in a recent article about FARK.COM, a website based on the advertising model. Except mass advertisers are retracting away from ‘barely there’ columns and content. Google, which runs advertising, from corporate and small businesses in North America, are banning websites with ‘barely-there’ regard for the point of their story..such as a post on a recently banned website (FARK.COM) ‘calling out an accused sex offender’ only to display X-rated (single X) imagery for additional ‘zing’ to the news. And there are hundreds of these images on that website.

How does a website like FARK really make money? In eCommerce there is the ‘funnel’ and ‘touch points’ and to give you the 1 minute explanation. If a porn website sees traffic stemming anywhere in their funnel or touch points from a website like FARK.COM..they pump money into his website to keep subscribers coming. Now that he’s going pay only, it’s a closed network of ‘theoretical’ perverts. In the same way if you eat Burger King you drink Pepsi and if you eat McDonald’s you drink Coke.

If their CEO charges $2 a month, and he has let us say 10,000 members, like Ashley Madison, on ‘perverts’ he makes $20,000 a month or $240,000 a year. This is all just conjecture and not confidential facts.

Revising Yahoo..I remember in the summer, their CEO made some ‘great’ guarantees to office workers.

  • Does the announcement have any immediate impact on my job? No.
  • Will all Yahoo part-time and full-time employees as of the transaction close date be employed by a Yahoo subsidiary acquired by Verizon (collectively, “Verizon”)? Yes
  • Will there be layoffs between now and the transaction closing? At this time, Yahoo is not planning any layoffs in anticipation of the transaction closing.
  • Will there be layoffs after the transaction closes? That is a decision for Verizon.

HEY VERIZON WHAT GIVES? YOU HAVE YOUR OWN LABOUR PROBLEMS WITH YOUR TECHNICIANS.

Yahoo stock is sitting squarely at $40 and has not moved anticipating that sale to Verizon..which is getting less everyday. Verizon wants to pay $3.8 billion now, but Yahoo at $40 and 193 million shares outstanding is worth $38 billion. So Verizon is paying $3.8 billion for $38 billion dollars worth of stocks. Do you think there will be any benefits left after that clearance sale??? Verizon is paying $4 not $40 per share.

FOR $4 VERIZON IS BUYING A ‘SHIT STORM’.

And lastly, here is the CEO of Ziff-Davis, a computer magazine publisher in Maryland, who is in prison for threatening movie tycoon Harvey Weinstein.
